Description of Alter Ego: Female

Alter Ego (Female on this page) is one of the rare games that's not only outstanding in every respect, but, like Fool's Errand, is so original in concept that it's hard to categorize.

You play your own alter ego in this game, going through life stages while making decisions that impact several characteristics, such as calmness, trustworthiness, etc., that in turn affect the number of choices you have in future situation. You might learn a surprising thing or two about yourself while playing this life simulation.

Overall, an outstanding game in every respect, and much more realistic than Maxis' recent blockbuster The Sims years later. Two thumbs up!

God bless this website. I just started this game and it kind of blew my mind. The questions at the beginning were one thing - but selecting what stage of life to begin at? I didn't expect that kind of depth. And the text format forces you to engage and use your imagination. It's fascinating.

For Ellie if she never found out and anyone else having that issue: Most compressed archive files like .zip and .rar have to extracted from the archive to be used. This is especially true with DOS and other computer games. To do this you use Winzip, WinRAR, or 7Zip. Simply select the "extract" function either from the right click menu, or from within the program itself, tell it where to put the contents, and let it do it's job. For a DOS game like this you'll probably need a DOS emulator, since modern Windows machines, along with Mac and Linux machines don't support DOS at all anymore and the necessary hardware from DOS machines is amazingly obsolete. So go to dosbox.com and and get the latest version, it's free and basically what everyone uses for abandonware and is included for retro DOS titles from places like Steam and Good Old Games(GOG).

Huh. Never thought I'd actually be interested in a game that's from the mid-eighties. Interesting game.
