Wow, this one brings me back! We bought our first IBM PC in 1981, shortly after they were released. My Dad was a Civil Engineer and received a government grant to buy the PC to work on engineering programs, otherwise there's no way we could have afforded it. Raceman was one of the first programs of any sort I can remember using. VisiCalc and a banner maker (printed to the dot-matrix printer) were two others.
