Description of The Punisher

An original blend of action, adventure and strategy and my most favorite of all Paragon's comics games, The Punisher casts you as the title superhero who must amass $500,000 through successful completion of various missions to pay your informant of evil Kingpin's location, and finally eliminate crimelord Kingpin.

Combat takes place in wonderfully diverse locations, including 3D minivan, underwater, and on foot. Cool items and exciting missions throughout make this one of the best PC adaptation of a comics license. Thumbs up!

Review By HOTUD

Thanks to a generous contributor, who got a computer specialist to copy the 5.25 floppy disks, the long lost Eternity Disk is now available. Quoting him:

The eternity disk comes with its own versions of the executable-you overwrite the originals, so these have copy protection (password from manuals). There is no mouse support within the program (build.exe). I thought you might be able to edit the existing missions, but I think what you do is either make your own, or save up to 14 missions (out of 50) to a .pun save file and load it in game. Then instead of being random, the missions are in order (this may not be correct). But I'm guesssing the 14 mission limit is because one gets assigned per day. There is no automatic jump to the kingpin on the last day.

Download the manual files and open the Eternity Disk Instructions to have more guidance to run the addon disk.

How to play The Punisher

For the eternity disk data to work in game, you need to set the eternity environment variable and run one.bat. You will then be able to load the missions off a save file you exported using the mission builder. Otherwise it will give an error. Mission order does not seem to be random when loading from a save file.

For a quick start to the eternity disk:

Tab moves you around the different fields, and new items/people etc are added with the insert key and values are changed using the +/- keys. pg up/dn allows you to move among existing items/people. There's a bit of a learning curve at first, but once you get a bit comfortable, a lot ends up being relatively straightforward. The instructions provide all you need to build a successful mission.
