Description of Visions of Aftermath: The Boomtown

Boomtown is a novel attempt at simulating post-apocalyptic life. Althought it may look like an RPG at first glance, the strong simulation focus surfaces soon after the computer builds you a new random world. You must buy provisions and other survival tools, then head out into the wasteland to cultivate fields, hunt animals, and try to last the longest in this harsh land.

Overall, it's an interesting and unique simulation-- first in a planned series that never materialized.

Frog:

Im sorry to hear that your dad has moved on in life, and im sad that a game dev who actually is a bit revolutionary creating the first of its kind of game, today its now remade and is the greatest game made in history next to Mario 3:

@Frog : could you try to get in touch with the former Mindscape Inc employees maybe?

to Chesco: as much as i would love there to be a fully functioning copy of the boomtown out there, the version that was un-tampered was on my dad's old computer. The computer has since been lost along with a great deal of his other stuff (which is saddening,) do to 'cleaning house' after his death as he was a bit of a pack rat and we simply did not have enough space and times were tough.

You can bypass said glitch by making a copy of your world file while the game is running. On the month in question replace and reload and you should be fine.

yeah my dad made this game and it worked then he gave it to a company who mass produced it and messed with it and well they messed it up........ his version works just fine though

I originally purchased this game in 1990. It has been flawed from the beginning with bugs. I love the concept but it always freezes or corrupts in the middle of the game. It's really too bad someone hasn't resurrected it

I experienced the exact same thing. I love this game but it always freezes.. I would love a fully workable version too.

I owned this game and once i finally figured out how to play and build advanced things, i fell in LOVE with this game only to find that there is a fatal developer's glitch where at the begining of a random month the land is 100% cleared of all vegitation/lakes/shelters and at the end of the month u die and the game freezes.

I would LOVE a fully workable game.
