Description of Match Day II
Here is the video game “Match Day II”! Released in 1987 on Commodore 64, it's still available and playable with some tinkering. It's an action, simulation and sports game, set in a soccer / football (european) theme and it was released on Amstrad CPC as well.

Before the Fifa games, before the PES games, before the Sensible Soccer games, the BIG football (soccer) game in the 80s was Match Day (at least in Europe). But Match Day II was the one that made the difference, many real tournaments (not on the ESports level) were made in Europe. Here in Portugal, was a really Match Day II madness, everybody had it in the mighty ZX Spectrum 48k/128k and Sam Coupe.

Matchday 2 was my most favorite C64 game growing up as a kid and finding it here is definitely a huge surprise but I am a bit disappointed by a glitch that causes the player to hit the ball always south east or south west. Even if the player is facing east or west, when the ball is kicked it goes either south east or south west. I don't think it's the keyboard because I am perfectly able to control the player running west or east, runs straight but when shoots he shoots south east or south west. Kind of ruins the game.
