Suck it, Randy Pitchford. This is what you get for not re-releasing these two DOS platformer classics. After Gearbox acquired the Duke Nukem franchise, and ESPECIALLY after DNF, Duke was on the back-burner indefinitely. Then Randy came along and delisted a BUNCH of Duke games, the first two being part of them, and ALL distribution platforms. Not even consoles have the privilege to play Duke 1 and 2, which is severely disappointing. These two games can still make money for Gearbox, and I would've HAPPILY bought them if they were available on Steam.

there is no application file.

I STILL play this game occasionally! Nothing like it for blowing off steam!

I have a copy of Duke Nukem 2. It is only the shareware version. I tried running it on a old xp computer and it worked. Really fun.

You can no longer buy this game online due to gearbox being greedy bastards.

Can anyone find the 3dRealms updated version before gearbox nuked it?

This should be put back here since it is, sadly yet again in abandonware hell. Same with the first Duke Nukem, Duke Manhattan, and the Duke 3D expansions. The latter of which Im really glad you guys have since there are probably alot of people out there who didn't get to grab the megaton edition in time.

WE HAVE TO BUY!?!?

Bilgerat984 2018-12-13 1 point

I can't buy this one. In fact, when you follow the link ALL of the Duke Nukem series is listed as, "Unavailable". Please make the original program available here again. Thanks.

As for me, that game is much better than the 1st part of Duke adventures.

Duke Nukem 3D was still technically better, but Duke Nukem 2 is still great, and better in its own personal ways.

the good old dos days were just good. we had 2d scrollers which were a craze at that time. then came simulated 3d which were entirely different. us kids got the immersion effect when playing. both were good in their own way. neither of these is "better" as some have said.

these days we've true 3d in ps3. now wouldn't that beat the duke3d which is simulated? nah! true 3d in ps3 is in fact semi-participative. we've force feedback joysticks and wheels in ps3 which have take the game to an entirely new level. but as i said, neither of these is worth appreciating if the good old dos 2d games didn't exist. each one stands on its own merit.

we need to cheer up the hardworking coders who gave their life into making these games for us. so thumbs up guys, because without you program writers, we wouldn't be here enjoying our *sses off!

This was a great platformer, one of the best I ever played!

I never played the prequel, I got it but just keeped on hanging up on this one... Great graphics and sounds, great action and solid fast gameplay! All you need from a platformer from that period!

I later was very astounded of the fact, that this game is just made out of 16 color, while looking like 256c! Believe me, it's true, even if the game doesn't look like that... ;)
