Description of Laser Squad

A relatively unnoticed game at the time of its release that suddenly became heavily sought after after the phenomenal success of its successor X-COM, Julian Gollop demonstrated his knack for deep and addictive strategy games in this early PC release. Control a squad of futuristic soldiers in 5 large missions. X-COM veterans will be right at home with this one, as it is obvious how the gameplay would later evolve into a classic that rocketed Julian and his company Mythos to fame and fortune.

Curiously enough, Laser Squad also features a great 2-player option that is missing in X-COM games-- co-operating with your friend to win a scenario is much more fun than letting the AI handle it. Two thumbs up!

Great game, but almost impossible to control with the mouse.

Guy Fawkes: The only mention of expansion packs I can find is for the 8-bit versions, it doesn't appear there were any expansions for the 16-bit versions. The DOS intro screens don't say if this is the Target or Blade release, but the first menu screen has options for 5 levels, and 5 missions are mentioned in the PDF manual, if that helps.

The 8 bit version of this game was an absolute classic.

Does anyone have the expansions for the DOS version? Also is this the Blade Software or the Target Games release? I ask because the Blade version already includes the first expansion pack (missions 4 & 5).
