Description of Lemmings 3D

An innovative 3D version of the classic Lemmings, 3D Lemmings took the great gameplay of its forerunner to a whole new level.

The official blurb: "The game features include twenty trainer levels, allowing Lemmings fans the chance to experiment with their new found freedom; ten unique graphically themed sections with a hundred levels in total; nine Lemmings skills fully-rendered 'Lemmings last request reward screens: quirky new sound samples and unique 'Lemmings - eye view' options that put the player into the shoes of our little green haired friends as they leap to victory - or doom."

The concept is still the same-- assign foolish lemmings various roles as diggers, blockers etc. to lead the tribe to safety-- but now you can do it all in true 3D, observing the action from any angle. Controls are confusing, but you can use the practice mode to learn the ropes. Good "auto-replay" function rounds off this underdog :)

Thanks @henk23, I've updated the archive with the good texture file. The demo is mirrored here also

@Kalcos and anyone else who experiences the black pyramid problem:

The problem is a corrupt texture file: TEXTURE.000 in the GFX directory has only 45 KB compared to the 410 KB of all other texture files.

You can download the correct texture here: https://web.archive.org/web/20210517212033/http://www.psygnosis.org/games/3dlemmings/

At the bottom of the page, download the demo zip file, extract and replace your TEXTURE.000 with the correct one from the demo.

Boom, Pyramids are not black anymore.

Leaving this here in case other people run into issues:

If you're playing in fullscreen and when starting a level the game boots you back to the main menu instead, try playing in windowed mode. It fixed this issue for me.

Also you need at least 40000 cycles for the game to run properly. Just look at the timer, it should be running at the same speed as a real clock.

Anyway, now I ran into another issue and this time I don't know how to solve: all the structures in egypt-themed levels are pitch black. I'm struggling to beat these.

Thank you for that tip! It was running really slow in DOSbox.

Game cycles in dosbox has to be just over 20000 and it should run fine.

What! I am the first comment?! Hm, well, anyway, this game is in my top 10 of all time. I played this SOOO much throughout the mid to late 90's. I really enjoyed it a lot more than regular lemmings. I think it had something like 100 levels, and I got up to around level 70 which took quite a long time. So much fun, absolutely fantastic game.
