Description of Lollypop

Lollypop is a good jump'n run game (there aren't that many good ones for the IBM-PC) by Brain Bug.

One of the later games Rainbow Arts released. Very cute! The in-game graphics are excellent and the various levels are different enough to keep you interested. Gameplay is fairly typical of the genre though. If you like platform games, especially ones with cute background and characters, Lollypop is certainly worth the download. The nice adlib music was done by Vibrants.

The PC DOS version is graphically the best, the Amiga version has the cheat from the cracking crew so it's way easier, but can be almost too hard even with cheats and some levels are long and confusing, later ones are more linear so can be completed easily,it does feel like the programmers first real pro game, the pacing is off,too many things to kill, pixel perfect jumps, and keys to rooms not obvious where to find them, some side rooms are just there for time and health pick ups, other hide puzzle pieces that you need to complete the level,so in consistent, could have done with a credits system as 7 lives isn't enough when there's multiple sections in early levels where you'd need to have 10+ attempts at progressing,PC version has best GFX and sound,Amiga version is ECS only,so the GFX isn't the best (16 bit Amiga) rather than the later 32 bit AGA (AA) GFX chipset, and the sound is game music only or just game sounds,as Amiga's sound is 8 bit,PC is full 16 bit sound so it's complete with all music and sounds.
Worth a try with cheats on Amiga, there's a god mode on the PC version there various cheats but no timer or level skip cheat unless you have the level codes,a really nice game apart from the game play,it's just too hard, borrows heavily from other genres, isn't paced well and has some odd themes,Narnia for the dream level?! and the final boss is just inappropriate (it's not good !!)
Worth a quick play if you're really keen...
