Description of Omnicron Conspiracy
Offering adventure in a world of detective / mystery, sci-fi / futuristic, Omnicron Conspiracy is an abandonware developed by First Star Software, Inc. and published by Epyx, Inc.. Released in 1989, you wander around in a 3rd-person perspective.
One of Epyx' last releases before they went out of business, this is a cutting-edge game for its time in many ways: good graphics, plot (in which you are an intergalactic police investigating an agent's disappearance), icon-based inventory, and good interface. Unfortunately, the annoying 6-item inventory limit, flat writing, and arcade sequences (yes, you have hit points in this game) dull these strengths. Still, an above-average game that held my attention with its quirky charm right to the end. Note: We have been informed by First Star Software that the company continues to exploit their intellectual properties, and therefore they regrettably cannot allow distribution of their past titles. Please contact First Star directly if you would like to obtain their out-of-print products.
