A side scrolling shoot'em up, based on the first and only at the time, Predator movie.
The game shows its 8-bit roots, not only in terms of graphics, but mainly gameplay.
Don't get me wrong, the game in 1987 looked fine for a 16-bit game, and obviously for an 8-bit game. If you were a fan of the movie, this was even better. The man problem was the shooting mechanic. There was no easy way to aim exactly where you wanted to shoot. Not that it was THAT difficult to hit the enemies, but you needed a lot of practice to get good at that part.

You mostly move from left to right for every level. You shoot enemy soldiers/guerillas, you throw grenades and try to avoid getting hit. I say try because you can't move in all directions. You can move left and right and diagonally, but not directly up or down. Annoying if you have played almost any other shoot'em up, but you get used to it if you love the movie.

You can find a nice variety of weapons with limited ammo each. When you pick up a new weapon you use it till you run out of ammo for it. Then you need to find another.

Difficult? sure.

In various points you will see the Predator's aiming reticule(s) approaching you, and the relevant music/sound. Try to not get caught in them or else BOOM.

I never finished the game, but here is an advice. When eventually you come face to face with the predator, drop your weapon (Return key IIRC). You have to fight him hand to hand.

If I was seeing this game completely objectively I would say it was a 2-2.5 out of 5. But because the nostalgia is strong with this one, I can't go lower than 3.5/5
