Download Storybook Weaver for free now. Published in 1994 by MECC, enjoy a educational game with reading / writing, typing theme!
Another educational game released by MECC in the nineties, Storybook Weaver is not really a game but a software to create illustrated stories.
The player can create a complete story with text and pictures. Several themes are available to help the player.
The Deluxe version adds a lot to the original version, lots of different objects are available to made much richer stories and illustrations.

I am so happy to get this for my kids again! Years ago my then 6 year old son loved tinkering with SBW and now we can share these happy experiences with our other kids. THANKS!!

Does this version work for Mac then? Or is there one that does?

Sorry batbot,I already have the original(not deluxe) Dos version, and didn't know this was the Mac version.
However, I will point out that people on this site are constantly complaining about DOS games not working in Windows 7, and DOSBOX is still the best fix for that.
Note to admin, please upload the DOS version of this to stop all this confusion.

*sigh* as someone pointed out: This is the original, not the deluxe, and the original was for Mac not PC, so I feel that using a PC emulator is probably what's making it glitch. Totally non-technical assessment.
Everything works fine until I try to use/view a scene or object. I can make a million crude title pages, but no crude clipart illustrations except for borders.I like the zebras; scintillating game conversation, I know.
I guess I'll have to get some scratched up copy off of ebay~

Jimminy Cricket people, don't you pay attention? USE DOSBOX!!! The newest version will run in Vista and Windows 7 without any problems. If you're not used to command-line prompts, use a front-end program with Dosbox. The best one is Def-end.

I can't get this to run at all for Windows 7... Whenever I do the Troubleshoot Compatibility thing, it always states that this is an incompatible program. :(

Bitch, same problem here. It's working fine but no scenes, no objects, etc. Totally defeats the purpose of having the game, because THAT is what I remember the most about it. Le sigh. Anyone solved this problem?

I can't get it to run without freezing, and the scenes don't show up. What are the setting used to make it work properly with the D-Fend Reloaded program?

this is not the deluxe version... every body says they have deluxe when all they have is the original... how does this keep happening. Let's try some due diligence, here.

i love it and it definately helps with my writing but i wish i had on my computer which i dont have on laptop so it sucks but i love it and stay in at break with my friends whitney chaise and my sis cause we lov it lol

i love story book weaver. i love to wright stories all the time. i do not have story book weaver but i love to do it at school, me and my little bro. are trying to get story book weaver because its so awesome. do you have any idea on how cool you are for making this activitie for people all over Canada...

Does it work for mac? I have it on my dad's downstairs dell computer, but it wont open...so i tried it on my imac, it wont install, so i tried this website, i cant open the file.

omg someone help me. it loads and plays fine, but none of the backgrounds or pictures will show up. is there anything i can do to fix that? its no fun just to have WORDS!!
