Hi, I'm the guy who uploaded this game onto this site. To answer ISIEL's qualms, yes, downloading the ripped version will not result in StarForce drivers being installed. The main reason I uploaded this game onto the site besides the ISO being incredibly hard to find was to provide an easy way to run this classic without damaging your computer. Happened to me when installing this via ISO and it sucked.
Incase you want to use said ISO instead, be sure to never run the non-cracked .exe or any StarForce executables. Be sure to run the StarFore official driver remover after installation. You can find it via a simple Google search.

I figured out the issue was that the iso has the cracked .exe in a different folder, but attempting to run that in any virtual machine gives the following error:
Debug Fatal
Dirdraw:1838:Unable to create the device: D3DERR_Notavailable

I was able to download and install from the iso file into my Windows XP Virtual Machine, but whenever I try to run Taito Legends, it asks for the disk, even if I run it from the launcher with the iso still mounted in the disc drive.

This game along with Taito Legends 2 will try to install old drivers on your computer. Not sure if using the RIP version will yield different results, just giving a warning. I had to reinstall my entire OS.
