Description of 50 Mission Crush

"A tactical recreation of the bomber offensive against Germany during World War II. Realistic, but dull; superseded by B-17 Flying Fortress and Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe in terms of graphics, game play, and historical detail.

One's created character had to finish a tour, and if a mission ended in failure, the only recourse was to begin anew; there was no abort/restart." [excerpt from M. Evan Brooks' Homepage]

Fifty Mission Crush was released in 1984 and was an unabashed computerized copy of the hit Avalon Hill board wargame "B-17 Queen of the Skies." Many, if not most of SSI's early wargames were thinly veiled copies of popular board wargames.
