Description of Blue Ice

Blue Iceis a strangely compelling puzzle adventure was released only in a few European countries, and then quickly disappeared from the market.

The game is perhaps best described as a cross between surrealist painters Salvador Dali and Rene Magritte, with a plot that is no less strange: you are a young prince who must prove himself worthy of a throne left for him by the belated King. This surreal game, in short, will tax both your intelligence and patience. It is, however, undeniably unique, with interesting plot and characters to warrant your time. Definitely a challenge for anyone who likes very difficult, esoteric puzzles. The game also predates another surrealistic game Treasure Quest and was similarly conceived as a contest which unfortunately never materialized. WARNING: This game induces severe headaches due to its almost incomprehensible puzzles and overdose of surreal art. Don't say I didn't warn you <EG>.

Initially I couldn't get it to run to save my life but I reinstalled the DOS version, dragged it to the dosbox icon and typed blueice and it ran fine. I've gotten it to work on dosbox pure before as well with the win3x version but not with 100% success however. Good luck! Amazing game here.

Runs great in dosbox pure.

Gameplay tips:

-Use keys as soon as you get em.
-listen to the poetry for hints as to what to do. (you can click the scroll at the top to see it again)
-the dialogue at the top when you eyeglass em also gives riddles for what to do.
-watch for your mouse to turn red. It's telling you where the doors are.
-check each room for an addition room (some have two).

Good luck!

The _publisher_ had wonderful ideas? How about the _developer_? :P
