Prince of Persia - Play Online
DOS - 1990
For small DOS games like Prince of Persia, you can play online immediately with your browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer...). Emulator configuration

If the game is too fast or too slow, try hitting CTRL-F11 (slower) and CTRL-F12 (faster).

UP - Climb ledge
DOWN - Crouch/Climb down ledge (if located close behind prince)/stop Prince faster when running so he doesn't skid.
LEFT or RIGHT - Run left/right
LEFT SHIFT + LEFT/RIGHT _ Walk left/right (finer control. backs off from ledges the first time, walks through spikes)
HOLD L SHIFT AND PRESS R SHIFT - Toggle walk (just hit R Shift to toggle back to run)
SHIFT - Drink potion/pick up sword/hold onto ledge/ (release to fall)
SPACE - Jump
WHILST SWORD FIGHTING
UP - Block attack
DOWN - Quit sword fighting
SHIFT - Bring out sword
GAME CONTROLS
CTRL+G - Saave Game (from Level 3 on)
CTRL+L - Load game (during title screen only, and you always start at the beginning of the level you saved)
CTRL+R - Restart game (go to itle)
CTRL+A - Restart current level (but not time i dont think)
CTRL+K - Keyboard mode
CTRL+J - Joystick mode
CTRL+Q - Quit to DOS immediately
CTRL+S- Turn sound on/off
CTRL+V- Show version of game
SHIFT+L- Skip to next level and set time to 15 minutes left (up to level 4)
ESC- Pause game, resume with any key
SPACE- Display remaining Time

You have to press the shift key to draw the sword, but you have to pick it up first. You will find next to the skeleton in Level 1.

The Apple 2 link automatically gives the DOS version - and while that may be the better version, I would have loved to test the original Apple 2 one.

Awesome, thanks for sharing! Some trivia: Whilst this is the original version of PoP, the PC version was actually published a year after the original release - which was on the Apple II in 1989 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZDAPp61aak).

Got a problem on level 8. As soon as i step into the new screen to fight the guard he kills me before I have time to draw my sword. Anyone have same issue and fins a way around it? Love the game but never completed it as a kid. I really want to do it but I'm stuck. HELP!

This IS the O.G. PoP. There's people that probably played some of the ports or edits first, especially those people that remember fighting a skeleton on the first level (even more if it's the skeleton close to the sword). I played it back in the 90's with my father's old 386 PC...great times!

Love this game. It was the 1st one my dad had on our 1st computer in the early 90's! Sure was state of the art then. I can't tell you how many nights I snuck down to play this game until all hours and my eyeballs were popping out. I definitely won the game then but can't see how now LOL! This game is up before I can even begin to get to level 3! Which .... makes me need to ask where the trigger is for the door out of level 2! I can't seem to figure that one out. this is not the true official prince of persia, I played through the first level and it's different, there are extra places and the stuff is not where it's supposed to be. it's like a hack.
