For small DOS games like Apple Panic, you can play online immediately with your browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer...). Emulator configuration
You have to choose the right game executable, then press PLAY.
To exit fullscreen mode, press escape. Playing experience can be poor due to your browser or your computer. Download Apple Panic and launch it with DOSBox to have the best playing experience!
If the game is too fast or too slow, try hitting CTRL-F11 (slower) and CTRL-F12 (faster).

Spacebar digs and fills holes, but you have to be in the right spot and not on the ground. Try spamming it as you run across.

I was able to sort of get to work in browser. #1, press Ctrl-F11 to slow down speed as it started off way to fast for me. #2, I figured out some of the controls. The number keys 2,4,6,8 are used to control direction. Only the ones above the letter keys worked for me. The ones on my 10 key pad would NOT work. There should be 2 more keys you need to press one for digging a hole/killing monster, one for filling in the hole. I could not figure out what those were.

Runs too fast and controls don't work.. :(
