Digger - Play Online
DOS - 1983
For small DOS games like Digger, you can play online immediately with your browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer...). This feature is still experimental, the game may not work properly. Warning: game save should work, but you should try it early! Also, be careful to select the right game executable in the list below.
Emulator configuration
You can choose which game version you want to use, then you have to choose the right game executable and press PLAY.
To exit fullscreen mode, press escape. Playing experience can be poor due to your browser or your computer. Download Digger and launch it with DOSBox to have the best playing experience!
If the game is too fast or too slow, try hitting CTRL-F11 (slower) and CTRL-F12 (faster).

You actually want to go to www.digger.org and download the Windows version. Then run the windig.exe.
You will be running the 100% faithful ported version with improvements, such as speed control (keys + and -), able to save your game (full game only), or replay saved games (a must to get the pro training). There is a couple bugs when loading replay files or playing custom levels, but the gameplay is 100% bug free - yes, I know that because I have been playing the shit for the last 15 years and counting. Works on Windows XP, 2000, Windows 7, Windows 10 - I've played on all of them :-)
The only advantage of runing the emulator here is that you can run on a Mac, but the results will be sub-par as timing is vital in this game.

The default from digger.zip doesn't work but digger.exe from the other two zip files plays OK on my PC. Brings back old memories playing it on the original 4.77MHz IBM PC.

This is a really old game so you need to make the dosbox emulate a really old machine. Edit the dosbox config:
