You forgot about an important thing, you need to create a file cdcheck.txt (or it was nocdcheck.txt i dont remember) and after applying the patch, is now possible to play it through. However, it's very prone to crashing (still after playing so long it's gonna eventually crash)

Game wasn't cracked at all. In order to play on modern Windows install a 1.01 patch and set compatibility to Windows 98.
