Here is the video game “Purgatory”! Released in 2003 on DOS, it's still available and playable with some tinkering. It's a role-playing (rpg) game, set in an adult, horror, fantasy, real-time, survival horror, japanese-style rpg (jrpg) and contemporary themes.

This game feels old, older than 2003, I enjoyed the beginning and wish I could enjoy it more but that one-room maze puzzle sucks! I already spend 2 hours and I can't really tell if the note given is wrong or is related to a different puzzle, maybe the game just expects you to brute force the whole thing (by writing down every possible direction combination). Purgatory is so old, unknown and has a crappy generic name that I can't find anything on the net. If anyone knows how to get past that maze, leave a comment! I might try to brute force it myself, I don't know.
Tip: do an Aimed Shot followed by a normal Shot to kill the earthbound without taking damage, if the damage roll is too low he might survive though.
