Whoever uses Dosbox-X and gets an error like "Failed to create media controller" or some such when running MOVTEST.exe and getting errors executing sns8.exe (the game), the problem is the game installs a broken version of QuickTime (that doesn't work on our setups). Here's the fix:

0. Copy the iso's contents to the hardrive within Dosbox, e.g. C:\Games\Scissors .
1. Install QuickTime 2.1.2: http://www.oldversion.com/windows/quicktime-2-1-2 (this is the latest available for Windows 3.1
2. Copy C:\Games\Scissors\setup\qtmovie.vbx to C:\Games\Scissors where sns8.exe sits. This will force the game to use the qtmovie.vbx in its directory rather than overwriting your system-installed one.
3. Run sns8.exe to start game. sns16.exe crashes the emulator.

If you still have QuickTime issues, purge C:\Windows\ and C:\Windows\Setup of all Quicktime files: qt* and *.qtc . Then install latest QuickTime.

I tried on dosbox with windows 3.1 installed and 86box with windows 98 installed. Both worked excellent. :)
