Abandonware Adventure games
Adventure games primarily focus on stories driven by solving puzzles and exploration of the world in which the protagonists find themselves. Using your intellect, deductive reasoning and problem solving skills you’ll unlock puzzles within the narrative in order to progress the story.
With the focus very much on the story, adventure games offer the chance for a player to immerse themselves within fictional worlds and take part in, and shape, the events that occur within them.
In their original form adventure games were text based, but the genre has since expanded to include interactive fiction, narrative games and most commonly, graphical adventure games.
Starting with early games like Zork and moving onto graphical adventures like Gold Rush and Maniac Mansion, there are many games to choose from. Later games of note include Gabriel Knight, Monkey Island 2, The 7th Guest, Myst and Blade Runner.
