Conquest
DOS - 1992
Description of Conquest
Here is the video game “Conquest”! Released in 1992 on DOS, it's still available and playable with some tinkering. It's a strategy game, set in a board / party game and turn-based themes.

I really like the user interface for this game (I don't mean the graphics, but the way you control your armies).
A simple RISK-like game, but easy to use -- and by far my favorite of the genre.
Also, as it is on the website, it looks like it is not registered.
So you cannot access the other maps, only the default one works.
I play the shareware version for years, always on the same map, so it's not that much of a problem...
Still, I learned recently that the registration only give you a number (a long number out of which only the 3 first characters are used in the DOS version) -- you need to start the game with it as a parameter, as in:
CONQUEST.EXE xxx-xxxx-xxxxx-xxx-xx
...with a correct key of course.
I know that the author (David Burns) gave some free keys in 2017, just look for it on the net (I suggest trying "conquest" + the author name, and maybe Magnodyne who collected a lot of maps and versions of the game).

I thought I remembered playing this game (or a game like it) with a map of England. Is that perhaps an earlier version of the game or a different game?
