A great 8/16 bit side scrolling platformer and shoot 'em up.
Very difficult with a ton of repeating sections till you learn a way to deal with them. Think of the modern "Souls" games or something.
You have two weapons , one pew pew lazer like weapon that shoots straight and one grenade/rocket/missile launcher which is in the back. The stronger enemies and obstacles needed that to be destroyed.
At some parts you can upgrade your suit and weapon.
The game is gorgeous and a bit different in terms of level design depending on if you play the CPC or the Atari ST version. I haven't played the C64 or the Speccy version so I can't comment on them.
Ah there are also teleporters at some parts which using them...you can take a guess. But basically they are used as futuristic ladders.
It's one of my all time favorite games and it is not easy. You will die, a lot.
Also I highly suggest to play the ST version not just for a different level design as I already mentioned, but for the very cool creepy different music in it.
I am not saying to just play the ST version, just that whatever you play, also play the ST version. As a kid I played the CPC and ST and loved them both to bits.
