Description of Enchanted Castle
Enchanted Castle is an interactive fiction text adventure with some nice touches. It' s fairly simple, but has great descriptions and fun touches like PC speaker sound and occasional ASCII art.
Your adventure begins at midnight in the center of a medieval castle. You have no possessions, and you know nothing about the castle itself. The goal of this game is to escape from the castle itself. But beware! The Enchanted Castle is full of traps and dangers. Escape will require observation, persistence, and wits.
Can you find the Star Diamond, free the princess, and destroy the castle itself as you escape your predicament?

Not the greatest text game ever. It has some obtuse design like no use of a Look or Examine command for objects held or in room. The dev states in the help file that you won't need them as everything in the room description will suffice, but the problem is this leaves the game feeling bland as room descriptions often describe objects without letting you examine them for more game-enriching detail, which can especially help provide clues as to what to do in a particular room.
There's also some obtuse darkness mechanics where in a couple areas entering a room at the wrong time leaves you trapped and lost in darkness, forcing a reload (your escape spell won't work!).
Compared to Infocom games where items and rooms could be intricately examined and interacted with, it's really quite a bland and passable text game.
