Description of Fields of Glory

This is a wonderful tactical miniature wargame set in the Napoleonic era-- with excellent animations of units that predates Sid Meier's Gettysburg.

Take control of either France or Britain and see if you can avert Napoleon's defeat at the famed battle of Waterloo. Although the AI is nothing to write home about, the game includes a comprehensive database of Napoleonic war that's worth a look, plus some interesting scenarios.

I can not get this game to work. I loaded the game into Boxer with little problem, have set up the sound card, but no matter what file I open to try to start the game little to nothing happens. I sometimes get a syntax error, depending what file I try to open to ge the game to start.

use d-fend and edit the game profile then add a drive, set folder as floppy or cd then point it to a copy of the game folder or you could get a virtual cd drive program

Hum, dear "Napoleon", the Napoleonic wars did not have France and the UK as opponents. The French Empire at its peak engulfed among others : Belgium, Holland, Italy, most of the Germanic nations against mainly and depending of the different coalitions that arose (to stop Napo ambitions and to restore a monarchy in France) the UK, the Austrian empire, Prussia and Russia.. Many other nations were also impacted like Poland, Croatia, Spain, even some colonies like the West Indies, let's not forget Egypt (before Napo empire though) etc.. We could say that it was the premises of the World Wars to come in the XXth century.
