Despite its age, the game can run on Windows 7 x64 under the following conditions:

1. Copy the QTW folder to your hard disk from the mounted disk image, open the QT32INST.INI file using Notepad, replace the "1" parameter in the CheckExistingVersions line to parameter "0", save the changes to the file. Then run the QT32INST.EXE file from this folder as administrator. Without installing QuickTime, the game will not work.
2. The game itself can be installed on x64 and does not even require compatibility with earlier versions of Windows. At the same time, on the "Compatibility" tab in the "Properties" * .exe file, it is necessary to check the boxes opposite the "256 colors" and "640x480 resolution" items.
3. On Windows 7 (including 32-bit), the game starts (by default) only with a distorted palette. To get rid of this, create a text document (a file with the * .txt extension) in the game directory and add the following lines:

taskkill / f / IM explorer.exe
pause
Kitchenette.exe
Start explorer.exe

This will temporarily kill the explorer.exe process (at the time the game starts), which will allow it to start in its normal form. After entering this content into the document, save it and manually change the file extension from * .txt to * .bat (if you do not have the display of file extensions on your computer, turn it on).
