Description of Veil of Darkness

Veil of Darkness is a familiar sight for players of The Summoning, as both games share a common top-down 3/4 approach to the adventure and the world interaction, although Veil is decidedly more adventure-oriented.

The horror story is based around a pilot who crash-lands his cargo plane in the haunted valley of Romania's Transylvanian Alps in the late 1930s, and it's now up to him to stop vampire Kairn. The great story and atmosphere are guarantee to please both adventure and RPG gamers, despite some frustrating combats near the end.

A very good adventure game. There are some RPG elements but they rather play smaller part. The game is quite difficult but the puzzles are logical or pretty straight forward and most of the clues come from the conversations with different characters.

Looks like Ubisoft pulled the game down sometime in the past year. Hopefully that means they're working on porting it for official release

Well I do like "The Immortal" and that game here, hehe. ^^ But well I am a fan of classic horror so it's understandable I guess.

Like some others, I got interested in this game after watching Ross' Game Dungeon video about it. Though I'm not sure I agree with Retro Pixel Lizard about this game reminding one about Shadowrun on Snes, I would rather say it reminds me a bit of The Immortal.

That being said, this game do look pretty darn awesome.

Every time Ross makes a new video the game he reviews goes up to "Trending Games". lol

Retro Pxiel Lizard 2019-11-02 0 point

I love how the interiors remind me of Shadowrun for SNESs, and how this made trending because of a good man named Ross made a video review/experience on this.

Sloppy, flawed and yet one of the best RPGs on DOS for it's characters , setting, and dialog.

This game was great. One of my favorites along with dusk of the gods, Dragon Lord, the Ravenlofts, and Full Metal Planet.

This was and still is a great game. It offers puzzles easily to be solved by doing some thinking, a little bit of action here and there, an interesting story, NPCs that are well rounded out and above all a rewarding and satisfying gaming experience.

The only thing to complain about is the ending which is hardly worth all the effort taken to finish the game.

What remains is the gaming experience and as that is totally worth it. So if you are looking for some oldie Horror-Mysterie adventure this is one great game to play.

i never played this game before, but the screenshots show that this game seems to be on the same engine as SSI's The Summoning...
