Description of Black Knight: Marine Strike Fighter

This is a simulator of the F/A-18 Hornet aircraft.

The Flight model is relaxed, so it’s easy to get into. The graphics are VGA, but they won't surprise you a bit. There are several scenarios and a campaign mode. The sounds are good, but unexceptional. This game failed to hit the spotlights by being marketed as shareware, receiving little publicity, and having no really original features. However, it’s good for a quick blast and fun to play (there’s great fun to be had with rockets).

All in all, a decent sim which didn't win any awards for originality, but worthy of checking out, as there are no real problems impairing gameplay. Recent games which might suit people who like this game are Hornet 3.0 and Hornet Korea, which made their debut on the Mac a few years ago, Jane's F/A-18, and Digital Integration's Super Hornet. You can download F/A-18 Korea from this very site.

Hey, Guys ... have you tried to change waypoints in the DDI? I can not do it. In the .doc file, attached to the game, it says that you should use the W key But, at least to me, nothing happens. In practice, clicking on that button should change the waypionts inserted in the mission. So, for example, instead of flying from waypoint 1 to waypoint 3 only after reaching waypoint 2, you could directly select waypoint 3 and fly there directly, without going through waypoint 2. Unfortunately, using the command indicated, nothing happens . Actually I pressed ALL the possible and imaginable keys, also using the "Shift" key at the same time ..... but without any luck ..... Does the same thing happen to you too?.

Oh, one issue: In the combat missions, mission #37 Airfield attack, the game is glitched because it flies you into a mountain as soon as the mission starts and there's no way to avoid it. Other than that, it's a great game, but I don't know why they released it with this glitch.

I still have the CD-ROM of this one. Have played it for years. The sound effects are excellent.

Nothing wrong, albeit is a really fun game in what little i played its "mission editor" is WAY too simple and doesn't let you do complete mission, but its main flaw is that its a -MARINE- F18. Not simulating a Navy one, so there's absolutely no navy carrier simulation in the game. And there's only one ground map.

Its good, but the game could really use more features.

Surely there is something wrong here.
