Description of Dick Tracy: The Crime-Solving Adventure

A fun action/strategy game based on the campy comic book P.I. who got his 15 minutes of fame on the big screen. The game is decidedly better than the movie: Disney combines furious platform shootout sequences with sleuthing elements of collecting and analyzing clues to determine the suspect's identity. Gameplay involves jumping into your patrol car and hit the streets in search of clues and informants, while battling thugs and hauling in crime figures for interogation.

The game is reminiscent of Sierra's Police Quest in that you, as Dick Tracy, typically would patrol around the city, waiting for mission calls from your boss. After a characteristic "I'm on my way" response, you will need to hit that siren and get to the crime scene. Good fun, with freedom of movement despite quirky controls and illogical clues that seem to be placed at random each time you play.

I haven't run the game yet, but I would point out two things. One, Dick Tracy is HARDLY a "PI," (which would stand for "Private Investigator,") he is a police detective.

Second, the film was hardly his "15 minutes of fame," he's had multiple films back in the 40's, (one with Boris Karloff as the villain!) two cartoon shows (one in which he basically cameoed and the action was taken up by clownish police officers) and a television series in the 50's.

If you have the sound source then there is a way to set it up you would need to read the help section of the dosbox website or send them an email

Is there any way of running this game with the Disney Sound Source option in DOSBox? Because it always defaults to PC Speaker.
