Dune - Play Online
DOS - 1992
For small DOS games like Dune, you can play online immediately with your browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer...). This feature is still experimental, the game may not work properly. Warning: game save should work, but you should try it early! Also, be careful to select the right game executable in the list below.
Emulator configuration
You can choose which game version you want to use, then you have to choose the right game executable and press PLAY.
To exit fullscreen mode, press escape. Playing experience can be poor due to your browser or your computer. Download Dune and launch it with DOSBox to have the best playing experience!
If the game is too fast or too slow, try hitting CTRL-F11 (slower) and CTRL-F12 (faster).

When I played it in 1992, it was crushing the whole time, so I never finished it. And now after 33 years I've played through the game in two days :)

To make it play with sound:
1) select "dune-fr.zip" as versiom
2) select "dune/DUNEPRG.exe" game executable:
3) Enter game go north and then "Look at mirror" to exit game
4) to reenter the game in english type "duneprg ENG VGA SDB2205 EMS 386" (without quotes)
The problem is in the IRQ selected for the dosbox. It seems that the IRQ is 5 while the game is set on 7

If you install dosbox and download the larger ISO, you get much improved visuals and all the music and voice acting. Recommended!

saving is in the room with the mirror. you find it after Jessica does her sounding .
just "look in morror" and you get the save option.

to get sound working:
1) make sure "GAME VERSION" is set to "dune.zip - RIP Version"
2) make sure "GAME EXECUTABLE" is set to "INSTALL.EXE"
3) click the start button
4) select "Automatic Configuration"
5) run: DUNEPRG ENG VGA SDB2207 EMS 386
*basically dune.bat is missing the SDB2207 parameter

Sound does not work. I use install.exe, set sound blaster, save settings and run game. There is no sound and no option to set sound in game. Something is wrong or I missed something.

To get sound, it helps to start with 'dune.bat' or 'install.exe' rather than 'duneprg.exe'.
Warning: after I saved mid-game, I couldn't reload the save. The game just freezes when I ask it to load the save.
