One of the best RPG's.

Still to this day one of the best PC RPGs I've ever played. Not overly frustrating (which its sequel could be), plenty of class variety in the Platinum version and you have three separate campaigns to play through (the main campaign of Neverwinter Nights, then Shadows of Undrentide and its direct sequel Hordes of the Underdark), as well as smaller-scale but still enjoyable premium modules to play, and you create your characters from the bottom-up. In true D&D fashion, you can be an evil bastard if you like or a good-natured hero (or something in the middle) and your alignment will continually shift to reflect that, though mostly it's not that important besides preventing you from being specific classes (Paladins need to be Lawful Good and Blackguards need to be some kind of Evil, I think)... or if you already are that class, punishing you by making you lose access to your abilities.

You can also multi-class. Want to be a wizard and a fighter? Go ahead. I think there are some limitations, but it's a lot of fun to see what fits best together and certain epic classes require you to invest in multiple classes to unlock them. If you become a Pale Master of a specific level you can get a bone hand with the ability to cast a death spell or if you become a Red Dragon Disciple you can get red dragon wings. With mods you can get more than that.

In recent years someone took over the mantle and released an "Enhanced Edition" and ported it to consoles, but this was always a PC experience and the Platinum version, at least for solo play, is more than enough.

Honestly still my favorite RPG in 2019 to play. Worth whatever price it might be especially with all the added expansions
