Hi,
i downloaded iso version, crack and patch... this the readme for my update iso:

This is really tricky if you wanna play it on a modern system.

Worst part: it loses focus, especially after splash screen and the window with scene if you interrupt cutscenes. To recover hit Ctrl+Alt+Del and open then close Task Manager.

If you try to launch a new game the game doesn't hook any keyboard, so in the Files\csi2\data folder you have a profile which you can load (if you want hex-edit the name "Player1").

The apply crack process is straightforward:
Full installation.
Copy content from the "Files" folder to your main installation directory.

Then setup compatibility:

Windows 95

Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution

Run this program as an administrator

Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by: Application

For better stability set DirectX as the render mode in game's options.

Eventually try to get better results using wrappers like DxWnd, dgVoodoo2 etc.

In this folder you have even the patch for language bug.

In the end better luck with an XP VM.

When trying to replace the files with the english patch, it says that there isn't enough room on the CSI Dark Motives disk and am unable to paste those files where they need to go

I grabbed the DVD version and set to full install so I could play "without a disk", but it still requires a disk in the disk drive... which my laptop doesn't even have... I don't know how to work around this

This game does not give me the option to play. the main screen has everything excpet 'play' i am certain i have downloaded everything i need. maybe i have missed something?

My game doesn´t save. Stuck in the midlle of the first case. I pass the first case, do the second but when I quit the game and return, it didn´t save anything and goes back to the first case

install shield asked to insert disc 2 with a certain file, i selected it and it still refused and couldnt install

Just a warning but I've found that if you use the multi-language DVD version, all of the text in cases 2-5 are in French for some reason.

I'm not sure how helpful this will be to you both and you probably have done this but I did this on another one of my CSI games.

I put the cracked files into the game installation folder by copying and pasting and when asked I select replace files. Works for me, hope this has helped.
