The best variant to play the game on modern systems is to use Virtual Machine with old Windows, for example Virtual PC 2007 + Windows 98, VMWare + Windows NT 4.0 or DOSBox + Windows 3.1. When you install the game on Virtual Machine, use the installer from Setup folder on the disc, don't use Setup.exe from the disc's root folder. The game requires QuickTime player for the work, the installer is available on the disc. After you installed the game, edit greve.cd file in the folder with installed game, in the line Name CD-ROM enter the letter of the drive where you mounted the disc; should look like English D:, the space before English is required!
If you don't know how to configure Virtual Machine, you can download the custom installer by TheCollectionChamber that includes the pre-installed English version of the game with DOSBox-X + Windows 3.1, it was tested for work on Windows 10. Here's also the variant of TheCollectionChamber installer for Swedish version of the game, and similar package with DOSBox + Windows 3.11 and Spanish version of the game
According to this thread, the installer by TheCollectionChamber can be used to run the Russian version of the game. You just need to rename Greve.iso to MG1.iso, then copy that new MG1.iso file and replace MG1.iso inside CD folder in the game directory. After that run the game as usual, the game will be in Russian language

Good game. Spoke to one of the developer, and even if the old kickstarter didn't go as planned they are still gona release a remake of the game at some point
