As Anotheronesbitesthedust said, I can confirm the rip version loads up as a demo. Jetboat Superchamps (and all of the SmallRockets games) were distributed like XBLA games, you would always download the full version but you could only access a demo until you bought the full version and got a license key you could put into the demo.
The website required to get license keys is long dead and I doubt anyone has any legit keys, but thankfully installing the game from the ISO seems to just work as the full version out of the box.
The game's menus work out of the box in Windows 10 but the Windows 7 fix is required to see gameplay.
