I use poweriso to mount images
Mount cd 1
Go to cd in windows explorer and right click the set up exe. hit compatibility, set it for windows xp sp3. Also check run in administrative mode.
click ok
This is important, even though you put it in compatibility mode, you still need to right click the exe and run as admin for it to install. Has french captions in the beginning of the game but thats it. Also, if you hit escape before a video is done playing, might get a freeze up. Happy playing

How do you mount or setup this game to run on pc?
I have done other games like re3 nemesis where you would mount it and run it...
this is not working like I did other games I downloaded.

I tried both cd versions when mounting it is corrupted.

I think this file needs to be replaced.

my modern laptop is not the problem.

I got it to work by running it in 98 compatibility and admin, disabled full-screen optimizations. At first it froze like SURVIVESTYLE5 mentioned but is working fine so far.

In response to the other two comments:

1.) The game is definitely in English. The subtitles on the opening FMV are in French as is a word here and there on the install. Everything else is in English including game menu and dialogue.

2.) I didn't have any issues with CD1 corruption.

However, I can't get past the first in-game cutscene. Before it can switch to where you control Ash for the first time, it freezes. I tried both letting the cutscene play out and I also tried cutting it off early. Both lead to freezing.

I tried running as admin and using XP Compatibility in addition, but it didn't change anything. If anybody has any suggestions, they would be appreciated! I don't feel like hooking up my Dreamcast just to play this game where I've never been able to get past the first stage lol.
