Description of Half-Life

An excellent game, with pretty well realised and thought out interdimensional travel concepts. I keep coming back every year to replay this, though I must say that fighting that howling ambulating scrotum monster toward the end always gives me a headache, even with the invulnerability cheat enabled. It's just annoyingly long, irritatingly bombastic, and gratuitously gross. Someone said this game "peaks out too soon". I have to agree. I think survival horror elements work best when they take place in the natural world for contrast and it is this reason that makes the office complex levels of the game the most thrilling.
The other-dimensional levels sometimes smack too much of someone sitting around thinking, "okay, it's another dimension, so what would be weird to discover there?" And the results are sometimes predictable and seem inspired by 1970's prog-rock album covers. These quibbles aside, I must say that this game has some of the best gameplay you're going to find and it is possible to race through levels virtually at the speed of thought. OR you can take you time and sneak around enjoying the ambience. It's cool, I like it. (^-^)
Alpha 0.52 Leak
A preview disk intended for journalists was released in 2013. To play the alpha delete or renamed the "...\Half-Life 0.52\Half-Life\Opengl32.dll" file and then run "...\Half-Life 0.52\Half-Life\enginegl.exe".
Half-Life has the following addons available: Half-Life: Blue Shift and Half-Life: Opposing Force, don't miss them!

Lo compré en steam y no me sirvió....y el método que utiliza steam para poder jugarlo al comprarlo es desagradable en Steam....solo se puede jugar el juego a travez por así decirlo de la página de ellos, así lo tenga uno instalado en el pc es como juego online, contabilizan el tiempo jugado no se porque.....y en este juego en especial la pantalla salió sin imagen totalmente oscura. No recomiendo Steam.

The game is abandonware, Just the Steam version isn't, If you want to legally play Half Life for free, download it on old-games.ru, They give you the 1998 client for the game, Instead of the Steam release. That one should work on a 98 SE Laptop.
