The performance may vary depends on diff HW config. At least playing must be smoothing....

XD24 called it! Put all my settings from "vanilla-low-low-low, @640x480, and set it to the available resolution closest to my laptop's monitor native resolution (native is 1600x900, selected 1152x864), and set everything to high-high-high, GL extensions =Y, fullscreen on, default color depth, Lighting to high (two choices, one is "vertex," and is the lower of the two)... and it loads and plays without any trouble, and smoothly reloads the level upon player death. Only allows one quicksave, overwriting it each time, but I can live with that!

You need to set the game res to the max res of your monitor.
Update the graphics driver sw.
Use windows update and check for "platform update".
hope this'll fix it.

When try to change resolution, I get an error with the OpenGL driver.
How to fix that ?
