Download Nightmare Realm (Windows)

All language versions of the game that we uploaded to our website are for Nightmare Realm Collector's Edition, which includes some extra content: concept arts and music, plus bonus chapter that unlocks after you complete the main story. All extra content is available in the game by clicking "Extras" in main menu.

The game has been tested on Windows 7 64-bit and Windows 10, it works fine. You may experience some small troubles when you play the game on modern systems, check our Notes for details

Notes:

• If the game doesn't work - run it in Compatibility mode with old Windows (like Windows XP) and as Administrator. Also, make sure that the path to game directory has ONLY English letters. And it is recommended to install all versions of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable and NET Framework for the correct work of the game, and OpenAL for the correct work of audio
• The game works on DirectX 9, so if you're using Windows 8, 8.1, 10 or 11 - you need to enable DirectPlay: Go to Control Panel, and select 'Programs'. Select 'Turn Windows features on and off', click on 'Legacy Components' and check the box 'DirectPlay'. Select OK, once the installation is done, restart your computer
• If you have any graphical issues, such as flickering screen or disappearing mouse cursor - switch the game to Windowed mode in settings or by pressing Alt+Enter
• The game has some small bugs like when you found the required item but cannot use it, or nothing happens when you click on active spot. To fix it simply close the game and run it again, on the next launch everything should work fine
• The bonus chapter has a minor bug. Make sure to use a sabre to get the shovel, not the gaff (hook)! Otherwise, you will softlock the game and won't be able to progress further
• If you encounter some bug that doesn't allow to progress in the game, create a new profile and start the new game. If the game doesn't allow you to create a new profile - delete the savegames in C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\LestaStudio\Nightmare Realm CE folder
• The official Russian release has a random critical bug that makes the game unplayable after the conversation with factory's director. That bug is random and happens only on some systems. However, we also uploaded an unofficial Russian version with translation by PanGames, that variant doesn't have that bug. Check this and this threads for more details about official and unofficial Russian versions
