Oops forgot to say to place the dsound.dll and dsoundlog into Dragonslair.bin. This folder is hidden and I think it's in programdata, this is also the place in which you need to replace the dragonslair.exe you got drom GameCopyWorld. Make sure to select the option to show hidden files!

Go to the wesbite "GameCopyWorld" get the Spanish patch-fix to replace DL3D.exe mentioned by previous user.

For issues when displaying this on a television in 4K make sure to right-click the dragonslair.exe go to properties-compatability and then change high dpi settings and turn on "ignore high dpi scaling".

For the audio issues use Creative Alchemy Universal
https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/28-creative-alchemy-universal. Install this file and go to program files (x86) open the Creative folder and grab dsound.dll and dsoundlog. If you can't find the dsoundlog start up the Creative application to create this file.

For modern control support start up Dragons Lair 3D go to controls and turn on console camera, set movement speed to walk (you can hold a button to run or vice versa, handy for precise platforming TR style). Next, go to control options and set a button for jumping and accept changes. Close the game, download Joytokey and create a new profile. Assign (button 1 - X PS /A XBOX AKA jump button) to "Enter" on your keyboard, (button 8 - Start) to "Escape". Now boot up dragons lair 3d once again and customize the controls to whatever you like. Just make sure to not change the jump button anymore.

My controls xbox one controller

Right stick - Camera

Jump - A/button 0
Crouch - B/button 1

I only noticed 2 instances with a visual bug with tapestry and pillars clipping through other textures, hardly noticeable but would be cool if someone know a fix for that. Some forum post said its a z-positionimg issue?

I am a video game player for long time the first home game system came out to the first Arcade video games come out. Years later i saw the first dragon's lair in a arcade on a
cd platform then later Dragon's lair 2 came out on a cd platform then years later i found DL 3D for windows pc. I was surprised to see DL 3d on a pc platform it was lots of fun an lots of rooms to see an play, and the fun arcade game was space ace then later years the game out on pc platform. Video games of all platforms can be real fun to play.. :o)

Instead of going through all the trouble of getting the PC version to run I'd highly recommend that you get the Gamecube version and use the emulator called Dolphin. It runs great in Dolphin and you are able to increase the resolution so it looks great.

Running the game on Windows 10:
1. Download the Spanish Fixed EXE and the German Fixed EXE #2.
https://gamecopyworld.eu/games/pc_dragon_lair_3d.shtml
2. Extract "Setupreg.exe" from the German .rar archive to the game's /bin folder (if you can't see it, turn on "show hidden folders").
3. Run Setupreg.exe - Install - Close
4. Extract "DL3D.exe" from the SPANISH .rar archive to the game's /bin folder, overwriting the original file.

This is where it gets weird. I renamed the Spanish DL3D.exe to "DL3DorigSP.exe" and it works (although the language is set to German everytime I start the game). I'm not sure why, but renaming it to "DL3D" or even "DL3Dorig" didn't work.

This method is not 100% sure, I've been fiddling around with all available No-CD-s, patches and fixes, and this is what I got.

I can confirm tho, that using Creative ALchemy solves the missing music issue.

To make the game run on Win 10: find from GameCopyWorld the Spanish patch-fix to replace DL3D.exe (won't force Spanish language, don't worry) and use also Creative Alchemy Universal https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/28-creative-alchemy-universal/ if you want music/cutscenes/movies audio. That's it.

For those of you who are struggling with this I racked my brains trying to get this to work even bought the cd version of ebay and was having the same issue getting to work in Windows 10 64. Today I managed to resolve this I renamed the dl3d exe to DL3Dorig.exe. I then downloaded the following 2 files and extracted them to the bin folder. DragonsLair3Dv1.0NoCDPatchEng and DragonsLair3Dv1.0.151.0NoCDFixedexeGer. Hey presto the game works and luckily despite 1 of the fixes being German the game is still in English.

The93DomGuy 2019-10-05 -1 point

Nice looking game but it does not work,
I have tried ruining it straight up and then with the no cd crack,
but even with the crack i just keep getting this error:

"Entry Point Not Found "
The procedure entry point _AIL_set_Stream_volume@8 could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\ProgramFiles\(x86)\Ubi Soft Dragonstone\Dragon's Lair 3D\bin\DL3D.exe"

Any ideas would be appreciated!
