How to play 007: Blood Stone Windows
The game has been tested on Windows 7 64-bit, Windows 8 and Windows 10, it works fine. The game supports widescreen and ultra-high resolutions up to 4k. You may experience some small troubles when you play the game on modern systems, check our Guide and Notes for details
Install & play guide:
- Mount the disc image. You will need the utility for mounting disc image files, like WinCDEmu, UltraISO, Alcohol 52%/Alcohol 120% or Daemon Tools Lite
- Install the game (if autorun doesn't work - simply launch the installation from Setup.exe inside the disc). It is recommended to install the game not in default path, but in some other, non-system folder, like
C:/Games/James Bond Blood Stone - After you installed the game, install the patch
- Then use NoDVD, simply copy all files from the archive and put it into game folder, agree to replace the original files
- Open the directory with the game and find Bond.exe. Right click on Bond.exe -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Set "Run this app in compatibility mode with Windows 7" and "Run as administrator"
- Launch the game and play. If the game doesn't work in compatibility mode with Windows 7 - try to launch it in compatibility mode with other version of Windows (Windows XP, Vista, etc.)
Notes:
- NoDVD triggers a lot of warnings on VirusTotal, here's the scan report. All warnings are generic, about suspicious/unsafe file, mostly because of rld.dll, it is safe to use. If your antivirus blocks NoDVD files - just add it to the list of allowed threats, here's the guide how to add the file in Windows Defender exceptions on Windows 10 & 11. Alternatively, you can try to use mini image to bypass disc check
- If the installation doesn't start - try to launch Setup.exe in compatibility mode with old version of Windows (98, 2000 or XP). Also, check that Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is set to the default (Windows programs and services only)
- It is recommended to install all versions of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable and NET Framework for the correct work of the game. Also it is recommended to install K-Lite Codec Pack for the correct work of in-game videos
- The game works on DirectX 9, so if you're using Windows 8, 8.1, 10 or 11 - you need to enable DirectPlay: Go to Control Panel, and select 'Programs'. Select 'Turn Windows features on and off', click on 'Legacy Components' and check the box 'DirectPlay'. Select OK, once the installation is done, restart your computer
- Even though the installer of US version let you to choose the 3 languages: English, French & German, it also includes the files for Polish & Russian languages (in US version, Russian language has no audio in pre-rendered videos but it include subtitles). You can use Language Changer to change the language of installed game
- When you run the game for the first time, it will ask you to create a profile - make sure that profile name has ONLY the English letters, to avoid the issues with savegames. After you created a profile, the game will ask you to enter an activation code for multiplayer game - just click "Skip", multiplayer servers were shut down years ago
- If you have stuttering or low framerate issue - you need to change CPU Affinity for the game, follow this guide for instruction
- If you have problems with sound, where some sounds are not heard, like you hear the sound effects but don't hear dialogs in cutscenes - go to the Volumes setting in your computer and switch it to Stereo. If it didn't work - try to change the sound quality to 16 bit, 48000 Hz or 24 bit, 48000 Hz, read this guide how to do that
- On some systems the game may render textures and shadows uncorrectly. If you see corrupted textures and shadows, disable shadows in advanced video settings
- If the game doesn't start - add Bond.exe to the exceptions of DEP (Data Execution Prevention): go to
Control Panel -> System Properties -> Advanced System Settings. From theSystem Propertiesdialog, selectSettings. Select theData Execution Preventiontab. Select "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select". ClickAddand use the browse feature to show the path to the program executable you want to exclude, in that case Bond.exe inside the game folder. Here's the guide with pictures - If you don't want to watch intro videos every time - use Intro Skip. If you don't like Film Grain and Color Grading effects, use this mod to remove it
- The game has some hidden graphics settings, you can use this mod to enable the maximum graphics settings
- The game has controller support, but the mouse must be connected too to get past the launcher. If the game doesn't recognize your gamepad - try using one of the additional tools from PCGamingWiki guide for controllers
- Don't forget to check PCGamingWiki if you have troubles!

@CHEESE - Mini image won't work on Windows 10 & 11, because the game uses SecuROM DRM, and Microsoft disabled the support of SafeDisc and SecuROM DRMs in Windows 10 & 11, also SecuROM was disabled in Windows 7 and 8/8.1 with MS15-097 update.
That mini-image is needed to "bypass" SecuROM check, but it will work only on old Windows OS. For newer Windows use NoDVD, it is safe to use. Even though it shows multiple warnings, all the warnings are generic, about suspicious file, it is the usual case with "cracks"

I tried installing the game again with the NoDVD instead of the Mini image, as I'm still not able to get it to function that way.
And it worked!
Windows defender blocked the file, so I got worried. Thankfully, I haven't noticed anything weird running in the background, and my antivirus hasn't detected anything out of norm.
I'm still confused as to why the Mini Image is not working on my end (on Windows 11 and using WinCDEmu), but I'm pretty sure It's because I am doing something wrong.
It would be great to have an actual tutorial for the Mini image as well.

Tried using the original ISO method, but I can only get to the point of mounting the ISO and installing the game, I've spent an entire day trying to figure out how to mount the mini image, but I cannot get it to work. Every time I try to mount the BLOOD STONE.mds It's not even readable.
Tried to follow Saviour's advice using WinCDEmu, but I am still not able to mount the mini image. Same problem.
I gave up on trying with the original ISO and I don't trust the repack or the NoCD

Seems impossible to download because of the size. When it went up to about 75% i got "network error". That wouldn't be much of a problem if the download server supports resume, but when i try to download it again it starts all over at zero instead of resuming at 75%.

Honestly, DaemonTools is more risky than actual NoCD patches, if you want to mount CD images, use WinCDEmu, much faster, better free program that doesn't try to install tons of adware and nag you about paid version like DaemonTools does. It's far less intrusive and doesn't hog memory when isn't used.

I got to the startup menu but I can't play the game without it saying "Please Insert the original disc instead of a backup." Can someone give me an easy solution for this?

I played the repack version and it was great the only problem was it started to stutter but i fixed it by going to task manager after that go to the details tab then right click on bond.exe - Set affinity - uncheck cpu 0 and then it should work flawlessly but if you close the game you will have to the steps all over again so i recommend finding a program that sets the affinity permanently.

How to use minicd
if you are like me and dont want to risk the nocd or the repack (none of which also worked for me when i installed in a vm)
1. dowload the original iso, and the minicd, install the iso, and extract the conents of the minicd zip to the directory of the game (anywhere dosent matter but keep bothe the files together).
2. you need damon tools lite(or any other similar software but this is what i used)
3.Click add drive in damon tools and change the virtual drive to scsi (dropdown menu, it was DT by default), region 1and click add drive to continue.
4. at the bottom of the damon tools app a new drive with scsi will be there, click that and a file browser will pop up asking you to select the image to add, navigate to the game folder and select BLOOD_STONE.mdf . at this point you will get a pop up saying drive (whatever drive it is for you is inaccessable, just ignore it.)
5. launch the game and thats it

I have tried multiple copies of this game from various sources, and none of them will launch.
It sits in processes (in task manager) for a second then does nothing. I'm starting to get the feeling my pc just doesn't want me to play this game

UPDATE: I have found that the NO CD below doesn't work with the ISO install patched game (not repack, haven't tested that version). I was stuck with nothing happening. -https://www.myabandonware.com/download/14jb-007-blood-stone doesn't work for the patched game.

The NO CD/DVD will be detected as a virus, sadly a few NO CD are like that for few of them.
So far this NO CD has been clean.
You will have to allow it through your windows security, it can be a bit of a hassle for
some of them.
