How to play M.I.A.: Missing In Action Windows
If you install it from the ISO files :
- The game runs without problems in Windows XP, but only if you set compatibility with Windows 95 on the installer and all .exe files.
- On newer Windows, use the NoCD :
- install the game (after a full installation and not forgetting the compatibility mode);
- copy the folders with videos from both discs to the game directory
- unzip the contents of the NoCD archive into the game directory
- run MIA_D3D_Change.exe first and then MIA_D3D_Start.exe.
- Patch 1.02 fixed bugs in online games, the NoCD files may not be compatible with a patched version of the game

No videos with CD version.
When i copied video files, all i see is pink/black/yellow screen with sounds.
Game plays fine but, no videos.

Does anyone know how to fix it asking for CD 2 at the start of the third campaign? I followed all install instructions and have had zero issues until now. It's been running great with dgvoodoo.

I am looking for help how run this game on Windows 10 long, long time.
I am using DAEMON Tools Lite to mount the image. I have set Windows 95 compatibility to all exe files and start Setup.exe. A minute the hourglass (circle) apperar and after that nothing happened.
What is wrong? How to istal it? Help me please.

I got the game working on windows 10 using my original CD. Compatibility mode set to win 98, and using dgvoodoo.
The game only crashed once on me.

I’m at the end of the game but can’t find the friendly landing zone or friendly base back. I just continue to fly over Saigon.

Hi i'm back again, I got this game to run fully in WIndows 10, just download the RIP file (91MB) then also the ISO files. Install the game (The installer is probably in russian or some language), just keep accepting, change directory if you want, then once installed, copy the video folders from the ISO files (mdf files), both disc 1 and disc 2 into the game folder, and it should work fine, with music and movies.

I got this game to work on VMWire xp professional, I set it to compatibility with win 95.
My issue is, the movies don't play and there's no music, otherwise it's all good, how can i fix this anybody got an answer? Copying Video folders from DISC 1 and 2 doesn't seem to work

If you still have your original CD copy just set the installer to run in windows 95 compatibility mode and when the game is installed. set the main app file to run in windows 95 compatibility mode worked for me on windows 7 then you get music and movie files witch are actually pretty cool and part of the experience.

To Alkher: Actually it is a RIP version, only basic files needed for playing a game (no intro, no video briefings, no music). I can´t recommend it, this game had realy good videos with real actors, little bit B movie quality, but great for pc game:) Try to search aroud internet for ISO. Sadly it is realy hard to install it on modern operating systems. One of my most favourite games from Vietnam war era, still have original CD´s and box form 1998.

This 1 needs some compatibility modes to install from original media (2CDs). After that you can simply start the game by launching miarel.exe directly, but dont forget to activate W95 compat.layer for said file otherwise it'll say it doesnt like WinNT & exit itself to desktop.
On a personal note, this game reminds me of Nuclear Strike, HellCopter & a little bit taken from SWIV 3D with the exception that this game's set into the VC conflict during its final phase in late 60s -early 70s having you to fly various chopper missions ranging from simple recon ones to medevacs under the heavy enemy fire. You'll be given control over 4 different copter types depending on the mission at hand. Although be prepared to dodge tons of enemy projectiles fired towards your heli at one times, and to cover a platoon of friendlies while they carry out sabotage task at other times, provide other friendly troops with an air support etc.
