Third comment: Income is still really low even with a lot of stores, costs rise much faster than income, and upgrades seem to do very little - but apparently, it has been this way at least since 2006 according to the IGN interview. "Each of these upgrades theoretically offers a bonus to your cash, customer and store acquisition but, in practice, they don't seem to have any effect." - "Even with the Barristas maxed out, you'll still be lucky to even get close to $100 a day." It seems the game has been "broken" all along...

Correction: I believe the game is working fully as designed. I forgot how income works! The company uses money every "tick" (for operations, supplies, salary, etc) and putting 100% into baristas is barely enough to make it positive, at first, but the more customers you get the easier it is to turn a profit. The key is "events" tied with money happen more often if you have more baristas, more customer events with managers, and more store events with execs. So even if the passive "income" of money/customer/store seems really slow even with high % of any employee, these events will send you in the right direction.

Yeah for me baristas do not generate any money, so you only get money from the occasional bonuses, and corporate keeps using money. So you are eventually always doomed. This bug makes me sad.

It appears that the effects of purchasing upgrades don't actually apply. I found another version of this that's kept behind a timer where the bonuses DO apply, but I can't get around the trial timer.

How to install and play:

1) There are two downloads available, "Disc Image" and "Shareware Version". Shareware is an .exe but it would not launch for me. So we can use Disc Image.

2) Inside Disc Image there are two files, a .bin and .cue file. Windows can not natively run these! So we have to either
A) Install a program to run these files. At the bottom of the general guide there are links to programs, including DAEMON which can run these. https://www.myabandonware.com/howto/
B) Install a program to combine them into a .iso

3) BUT! I already did step 2 and have created an iso. These can be natively ran on windows and thus are much easier to deal with. I have it hosted on my github with additional instructions: https://github.com/JahsiasWhite/CoffeeTycoon

The game is either broken or I'm missing something. And I can't find anything about this game on the internet. When selling coffee, I keep losing money instead of gaining it, and the random events are unrelenting and can destroy your save file in a few days.

Wow! Finally got it working after lots of trouble! I used the disc image, extracted the bin file, and the bin file opened up the installer. Ran the installer and I'm good to go now! Can't believe it took me this long! I didn't have success with the Shareware version.
