Here is a complete list of changes that should be made to the original version (not Patch 1.01) with the help of a hex editor:

1. No-CD Patch (fix CD lookup)
Address 0x2D264: Replace 74 2B - EB 2B

2. Start all levels with one crystal to complete level 8 and beyond

To disable CD checks in original unpatched version of the game one must change JZ instruction into JMP during CD lookup. Open exe file in any hex editor and change byte 184932 (2D264 in hex) from value 74 into EB (all in hex, of course). In patch 1.01 version the address is 0x2D343, but I didn't manage to make this version work.

However, there is still a 'anti-piracy' problem with insufficient number of crystals after several levels. Format of levels was actually reversed (it was described in comments of one of the YouTube videos) and it is possible to overwrite the required number of crystals.
