Description of King's Bounty
Back when I became instantly addicted to this fantasy strategy game, I wondered why it didn't sell better than it did, and why so few magazines recognized its quality. Years later, when the game was given a tremendous facelift and reborn as Heroes of Might and Magic (HOMM), the great game concept finally got the attention it deserves.
Still, few people know about HOMM's predecessor even when New World Computing included it with the first HOMM game. So here it is.... the true beginning of a classic fantasy conquer-thy-neighbor series :)

I played his game so much so enjoyable.
I beat it on impossible with having access to just two maps.

Oh, I found what the issue was. It recognized true color ("millions of colors") as B&W. Switched to 256 colors and it worked for me.

When I run the game in SheepShaver, the graphics is always B&W. Do I need to provide a command line argument?

I dont seem to be able to travel between continents, even with the map required, all the game play run through's I can find say to just sail away in the boat and you get the option to change continent. This does not happen for me, am I doing something wrong or is it the game?

Hi FRYLOCK,
I use Boxer which is similar to DosBox to play these type games on a Mac. Boxer is a lot easier to use than DosBox. You download Boxer for free (give a gratuity), download the game, then just drag the game file into Boxer's "Import a New Game" window. It's usually that easy. Sometimes you have to set up sound and video, but that is part of the game's files. Hope this helps.

Yes!! So glad to have found this here. I used to play it back in high school. I was (am) a huge fan of the HOMM series and really like having its forerunner back in my possession.

Apparently the crack isn't working as I'm running it right now and it quits the game back to DOSBox when I try to hit Enter past the copy protection.
admin 2014-08-11 0 point DOS version
The game is cracked, just hit enter when it asks for passcode.

I used to play this, learnt all the tricks. I remember beating this in ~52 in-game days (for reference, impossible mode gives you 200), and being pissed because a 50/50 guess on the grail was the only reason I didn't get a sub-50 run.

Amazing game! it's 2012, and its still cool, compared to games that are made ourdays.
I just have forgot how to go to other continents and cyrcling Continentia :)

very enjoyable game. It's how Heroes would be if it would not be turnbased, but an rpg consisting of moves.
Don't fight ghosts unless you only have high tier units! Don't try to create a superstack of joined ghosts, they will rebel when they close up to 1000 units.
I have a certain round of KB that I remember. I found druid dwellings who were excellent shooters to have joining. After stabilizing using those, I got the high tier units of the home town and some stuffs and dove into the next world/underground or what it was finding dwellings for pink dragons and stuff as well as the obelisks needed to finish the game. It was very neat.
