Laser Surgeon: The Microscopic Mission
DOS - 1987
Description of Laser Surgeon: The Microscopic Mission
In this difficult game that could make you go blind, you're shrunk to the size of a cell and injected into a patient's body (hrm... where have we heard that before?) to perform surgeries on different body parts.
The not-so-intuitive controls takes some getting used to (using joystick is much better), and the graphics (low-res EGA) is really hard to see. Still, it turns a (cliche?) concept into hours of gameplay. Not as good as the classic Life & Death games, but isn't bad.

Wow -- my uncle had this game back in the day, and I could never figure it out. Guess what, I still can't!
Well I can get farther at least. First off, this game is impossible without reading the manual.
Second, if you're using dosbox, set the graphics to tandy or pcjr so you can get the 16-color display instead of the incomprehensible 4-color readout.
Finally, I am having some technical glitches which are making it difficult to proceed. I can't get the map screen (key M) without the game locking up, and it appears to be impossible to navigate through the heart without it. Also the game seems to lock up on the "game over" screen, requiring a restart of dosbox to continue. Still trying to figure out workarounds for these...
