Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance is a video game published in 2003 on Windows by Konami Corporation, Konami of America, Inc., Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH, Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd.. It's an action game, set in a shooter, spy / espionage and stealth themes.
MGS 2 has been unplayable on Windows for several years, but in 2016 Alessio Di Giacomo, A.K.A. VFansss, released its own patch to fix everything. Read the wiki and get the patch from the github page.

The version on steam is Sons of Liberty, not Substance. Also the game has not been put back up on GOG. This game should be put back up here.

How do I download the game? The setup file keeps crashing, I closed everything, I emptied my temp folder, and my internet's fine. Someone help me, I don't want to emulate this game since the performance is gonna get worse and I don't have a good pc.

We have some Konami intruders folks. They don't want you to play MGS2. They don't want you to know that Hideo already denounced Konami gulags in that game. They are also blocking the upload of the PC version of MGS3 because there are proof of their malpractices in the code of that game.

So this game was removed by konami from GOG and all digital stores "temporarily" due to Licensing issue. This was in November. Its now June, its been like 7 months now. I think this game should be reuploaded onto myabandonware. Jesus thanks Konami it got uploaded to GOG for like 1 year before being taken down again. Nice work Konami realll nice.

As of today, every version of Metal Gear Solid 2 (and 3) got pulled from all digital stores due to copyright issues. I don't know if it counts as abandonware now.

It is available on the PS Store, but it's for the PSVita and PS3, both of which sony, from what I understand, no longer officially supports. But this is abandonware on PC, as you cannot buy this on PC. -- you also cannot buy this on PS4/Xbox etc etc.

The game is not available on GoG.com. Not sure where you got that information from. In the US here and I cannot find it on GoG. Search produces no results.
