I have a soft spot for the "Strip Poker" games from the Artworx company (1981-2020; R.I.P.), and wanted to add a few comments. (Artworx was based in Florida, and hired local models; odds are, not all were going to be supermodel quality, but that's not a bad thing, as it's nice to play against "real" women. It's a pity unkind comments as the one from "BUBBA" below are not uncommon. The Abandonware site has a page for "COVER GIRL STRIP POKER, 1991," and I see a commenter from there ("HORNDAWG") wrote: "...women are getting hotter and hotter...and these aren't among them...woof!"

Something seemed off when I used the "PATCH" from "Game Extras" at this page's bottom (under the "Download" button), and I switched to the original "SPPv4.exe" file; that worked fine.

The constantly appearing nag screen reminding to add another player may be turned off from the Options menu, by unchecking the box that is checked by default. If you'd like to add another player, one may do so from the Options menu.

Earlier DOS versions have sound effects (as examples, shuffling cards, and a "sad" tune every time the girl loses an article of clothing), but I was surprised to see the only sounds emanate when the girl makes a comment with clothing losses. Since this is a "modern" version from 2007, it's logical to assume there were sound effects, and if so, this rip may have failed to include them.

What I liked about this version was that the earlier versions were trickier, lulling one into betting big, by offering a great hand. This version was more "reasonable."

What I also liked was that there are different views of the ladies. So if the girl wins back an article of clothing and then loses it again, there are other shots of the lady's natural state that appear randomly.

This was a truly superb game for its time, and it's still a good deal of fun. I see there is a company named Torquemada that improved on the formula (they put out "Video Strip Poker Supreme/Classic in the early 2000s), given more advanced technology, naturally. Those who want to partake will need to part with cash. (The Abandonware site offers a download for these older versions, and I haven't tried it. Comments on that page make it seem the program has difficulty working unless there is a code.)

In the sherry.spp file, there is a section that (incorrectly) reads:
