Description of Joan of Arc: Siege & the Sword
A great conversion of underrated Amiga game of the same name, Joan of Arc: The Siege & The Sword is a fun strategy game about one of the most intriguing historical personages who has rarely been depicted in a computer game.
The game begins with an excellent introduction scenes about the Hundred Year war between France and England, and sets the stage for the game. The year is 1429, and a 17-year-old peasant girl had just been ordered by Saint Michael to save Charles, the true heir to the French throne, by ordaining him in Reims and driving the English out of France. Charles, convinced that she is an instrument of God, appointed Joan a general and ordered her to free Orleans...
In many respects, the game is a typical medieval conquest game reminiscent of Cinemaware's Defender of The Crown. However, similar to Chip's earlier Pharoah, it has several innovative features, such as the ability to forge alliance between countries, and fun action-style sequences. With over 35 territories to conquer on your way to Reims, the game will keep Joan of Arc fans busy for a long time.
Joan of Arc may not be feature the brightest AI on the market or the best graphics, but with its unique historical setting and atmospheric gameplay, it's a very enjoyable game that comes recommended, especially to fans of Cinemaware classics. Thumbs up!

OTEX: It's important to properly configure your DOSBox setup. Using the most recent version of DOSBox, and having set it all up myself (rather than using the pre-installed version) I've had no issues.
However, as suggested by S.N.I, you have other options as well, and running an installation of actual MS-DOS within a virtual machine (say, Oracle VirtualBox VM) should work fine if you just can't figure out how to make a DOSBox install work on your system.
DOSBox is a "pseudo-virtual-machine," but not a full-on virtual machine. That is, it doesn't exist in a separate "virtual space" unlike true VMs do. Oracle VirtualBox, on the other hand, creates a complete "virtual PC" and will h ave every aspect of a real physical machine, at least so far as the software is concerned.
Some software (games or otherwise) don't work with DOSBox because they expect there to be a C: drive with the actual files from a DOS installation at the drive root, and the rest within a C:\DOS subdirectory there, and so on. This hasn't been a problem for me, using this software, but that could be due to how I've set up my particular DOSBox setup. Running in a full VM, with an actual install of DOS, would avoid any such potential conflict.
If you DO decide to create your own "virtual DOS PC," you might want to take one of two very different approaches. First, create a single "virtual DOS PC" into which you install every DOS (or even Windows 3x) program you want to install. Or, and this is what I do, create a "base" installation (in my case, with MS-DOS 6.22 with Windows for Workgroups 3.11), leave that untouched, but make copies of it and do "clean installs" within that copy for every individual program you want to run in a DOS/Win3x environment. I find that makes life easier for me, as I don't have to worry about the setup which works for one program making another program fail... but it does create a lot more "housekeeping" I have to do, and more hard disk space, as well.

@OTEX: try another DOS-emulator. Best is, to run games on their/its original Operating Softwares. You find for sure DOS free download.
I loved that wonderful game! I never succeed the ladder onto wall climbing up the castle wall, very tough game when I was young ;)

Just love the real sound music, remembering me at my ibm xt286 dont have any sound card installed.
By the way, I cant play at troops war, it hung. I use DOSBOX, any suggest?
