I wanted to try it but I get a weird graphical glitch. The only thing it displays is a whitescreen with a flickering mouse. I can interact with the game, but I can't see anything. It's just all white. This is after using the WineD3D, including testing older versions of it. Using the -rd shortcut and experimenting with the options has been unsuccessful as well. Could this be a problem with integrated graphic cards or AMD ones in particular?

I'm getting this issue too, the installation folder seems to think its on a dvd and so I cant copy the files to that folder, would it work on the main game folder?

when i try to put the d3d9.dll wined3d.dll filles into the games installation folder it says its full idk what to do

For anyone having trouble I'd recommend going to Federico's previous versions of WineD3D (the most recent was getting flagged as a trojan). I also found that the files needed for the Renderer error are "d3d9.dll" and "wined3d.dll". Perhaps their naming has changed since Driggs comment.

Sorry I've had a few drinks and it's been a minute since I did this. It's not the executable you need to add the " -rd" to. You need to make a shortcut for the executable, then right click and go to properties, then in the text box labeled "Target" in the shortcut tab is where you and the " -rd"

I did the fix that Driggs said but that also didn't work for me. After like 3 hours of research I found the old actual website on the wayback machine and it said to add " -rd" to the executable and this worked for me. I don't know if this works alone or if you also need Driggs fix but good luck everyone

I tried the solution Driggs provided, but now I just get a white screen and a cursor. I've tried enabling directplay, running in compatibility mode, and disabling fullscreen optimizations. Any ideas on how I can get it working?

For anyone getting the D3D Renderer Creation failed error:

Download the latest version of WineD3D, then drop the files named "d9d3.dll" and "wine3d.dll" from the archive into the game's installation folder. Then launch the game normally, no further configuration needed.

This will translate the game's legacy calls from Direct 9 to the modern DirectX 11+, allowing it to create a renderer without error. Enjoy!

I'm getting D3D Renderer Creation failed error on launch. Which directx redist do I need, or otherwise what is any method that can fix this?
